Middle School Guidance
Listen
The middle school years are arguably those most fraught with transformation and are the most confounding to parents and those with the least accessible professional guidance and support. Add to it the fact that 'Back to School' today also means back to mass shooting fears, and you now have a real recipe for increasing anxiety. Phyllis Fagell has authored a practical guide to thriving in middle school among an age group of students who don’t have enough informed support. Fagell, a school counselor in Washington D.C. and a therapist in private practice, is syndicated by Bloomberg, featured in The Atlantic, The NYTimes and writes regular columns for The Washington Post on counseling, parenting and education. She's written a three-part series for The Washington Post on middle school.
