Marriage Reimagined

After Wayne Scott’s wife, Eva, learns he is struggling with his identity within the context of their monogamous marriage, they make the difficult decision to separate. With three young children, a mortgage, and the threat of divorce looming large, the two take a leap of faith and begin attending couples therapy with a professional that will forever change each of their lives. It is in that very therapist’s office that the seeds for a beautiful, renewed phase of their relationship are sown as they seek to find a “common story” and, to their surprise, fall in love all over again. His essays have appeared in numerous publications, including The NYTimes, Huffington Post, The Sun, and The University of Chicago Magazine. Scott's NY Times essay “Two Open Marriages in One Small Room” was adapted for the Modern Love podcast in 2021.
