Summer Heat and Hair Loss

Much of the nation is having severe heat this week that could last several weeks. It will be in the 90s with humidity added to the mix driving the heat index up to 100. Heat advisories are being issued. We all know some of the health issues that heat waves can have and how deathly it can be. But one thing many people do not realize is that severe heat and sun in the summer can cause permanent hair loss that is not noticeable until winter. Dr. Keith Kantor, Trichologist, explains how the summer heat and being out in the sun is one of the leading causes for hair loss and hair thinning. He can explain why this happens and what you should do if you are out in the sun to prevent hair loss. He is Clinical Director of Regen Therapeutic.
