Surviving Traumatic Brain Injury

Kathryn interviews Professor Emeritus at Springfield College Dr. JoAnne Silver Jones, author of “Headstrong: Surviving a Traumatic Brain Injury.” While she was in Washington DC to celebrate Barack Obama’s inauguration in 2009, Jones was walking from the DC Metro stop when she was randomly attacked by a man with a hammer. Part vivid memoir of trauma and hope and part reflection on our country’s systematic racism within our education and criminal justice systems, her book is a searing portrayal of one woman’s fight for survival.
