It’s no secret that animals bring an undeniable joy into our lives, but the impact of animals is far greater than we might think. Her book shows how deeply the well-being of humans and animals are entwined. Dr. Akhtar is the Deputy Director of the Army’s Traumatic Brain Injury Program and is a Lieutenant Commander in the U.S. Public Health Service.
