Kathryn interviews HIV specialist Daniel Baxter MD, author of “One Life at a Time: An American Doctor’s Memoir of AIDS in Botswana”. Dr. Baxter spent more than six years in Botswana providing direct patient care, teaching healthcare workers, and mentoring physicians under the aegis of the African Comprehensive HIV/AIDS Partnerships, heading up teams of residents and medical students at the country’s largest hospital, where under dire conditions, he cared for some of the sickest patients he’d ever seen.
