Gun Violence
Listen
It’s difficult for Americans to cope with our emotions after a mass shooting and take action, as the motivations for violence can be difficult to pinpoint. It’s also frustrating to link the cause of mass shootings to a mental health issue - this approach just worsens the stigma. Other factors like white supremacy and potentially our President's rhetoric can play a role too. Suvrat Bhargave MD offers recommendations for changing the conversation around gun violence, and as a renowned and respected educator, speaker and board-certified psychiatrist, brings “relatable expertise” to patients. He completed his residency training and specialty fellowship at Duke University and is a regularly featured expert on various media platforms including Money and CNN.com.
